You also gain a valuable self-care practice that’s always there for you.
You can expect your awareness to expand and to become more connected with your sense of inner wisdom and intuition.
More About Reiki
Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a system of hands on healing that originated in Japan in the early 1900s.
‘Facilitated meditation’ is a good analogy for Reiki treatment as the process helps to facilitate a relaxed, meditative state.
While in this relaxed state we connect more deeply with ourselves and with the body’s innate capacity for self-healing, allowing it to establish balance and harmony.
The practice of Reiki is a simple yet effective process that anyone can learn – no super powers required!
Reiki can help you:
Reduce stress and feel more relaxed
Manage physical health & wellbeing
Feel more connected and present in your daily life
Tap into your intuition
Support balance and wellbeing for yourself as well as your friends and family
Along with many other benefits

Frequently Asked Questions
Are there any pre-requisites for the course?
There are no special skills or prior knowledge required to participate in a Reiki I course.
Reiki is a simple but effective practice that anyone can learn. No super powers required!
How long does the course go for?
Course information will be covered over two days and run from 9.30am to approximately 4.30/5.00pm. The course will run over two consecutive Saturdays.
You are welcome to arrive from 9.00am to give yourself an opportunity to relax and have a cup of tea and a chat before we commence at 9.30am.
Do I have to touch people?
The practice of Reiki can be conducted with the hands touching or hovering above the body. We will cover both options in the course.
If you prefer not to touch or be touched this can easily be accommodated. Please advise before commencement of the course if this is the case.
How will I know if I'm doing it right?
In the course you will receive all relevant attunements and learn the standard treatment process and associated hand positions. If you follow the process you will absolutely be ‘doing it right’ regardless of whether or not you experience any physical sensations in your hands.
The feedback process that we use during the course will help you see for yourself that even if you don’t always feel anything as the practitioner, the person you’re treating still benefits from the process.
Are you the right teacher for me?
I approach both coaching and Reiki with a combination of intuitive wisdom and grounded practicality.
I like to ensure that you have a solid base of facts in the theory that we learn – you might have noticed that there’s a lot of conflicting information out there. And I really encourage you to ask questions (even the hard ones!).
I also ask you maintain an open mind and balance this with what you observe and experience when you practice treatments on yourself and others. Because there won’t always be a logical explanation for the intuitive or spiritual experiences that you may encounter.
Will I have to do any homework?
There is no “homework” in the traditional sense.
However, I do want to ensure that you get the most out of this course and have this practice at your disposal to support your wellbeing on a regular basis.
So what I like to do is invite you to make a commitment to yourself to practice what you’ve learned by completing 21 days of self-treatment.
If you choose to make this commitment you would commence 21 consecutive days of self-treatment starting from the first day of the course. Your course manual will contain a self-treatment journal where you can make notes on your experiences over this period and observe how that experience changes over time.
What will I be able to do after the course?
You will be able to perform self-treatments as often as you choose. You will also be able to conduct seated and table treatment for others.
You won’t be able to conduct remote treatments, teach Reiki to others or perform the attunements.
Will I be eligible to join any professional bodies?
Upon completion of the course you will receive a certificate. This certificate makes you eligible for membership with Australian Reiki Connection if you wish to join.
What's the next stage of learning?
Reiki I provides you with a great foundation for self-care and treating others in person.
After completing Reiki I, however, some people wish to further their knowledge of Reiki. The next stage of learning is completion of Reiki II, in which you receive additional attunements and learn to conduct treatments remotely.
